Elevating Young People Beyond Borders

At ELEVATE, our mission has always been simple but ambitious: to walk alongside young people, create spaces where they feel safe to grow, and equip them with the tools they need to shape their own futures. What began as a local youth mentoring programme has grown into something much bigger — a movement that now reaches young people across borders, cultures, and communities.

Since 2024, ELEVATE has been proud to support Christian Life School in Uganda, extending our mentoring approach internationally through a growing education partnership rooted in dignity, access, and long-term impact.

Supporting Education in Uganda

Our work in Uganda goes far beyond delivering workshops. Through the leadership of ELEVATE’s Founder and CEO, Trevor Gomes, and with the backing of RISE (ELEVATE’s parent company), we have been able to support Christian Life School and the wider Kisoro District in meaningful, practical ways.

This includes:

  • Delivering online mentoring workshops led by ELEVATE

  • Funding through RISE:

    • Access to school meals, ensuring students can learn without hunger

    • Digital learning tools to widen educational opportunity

    • Regenerative farming training to support food security and local skills

    • Sustainable food storage solutions to strengthen long-term resilience

Crucially, this support has helped create safe, stable spaces for learning. When ELEVATE delivers mentoring workshops at Christian Life School, students are able to fully participate — knowing they are supported, fed, and learning in an environment designed for their wellbeing.

For Trevor, this work reflects a deeply held belief: education, when done right, is one of the most powerful drivers of equity and long-term change. By investing not just in classrooms, but in the conditions that allow education to thrive, ELEVATE is committed to change that lasts.

Extending Our Work to Australia

While our roots remain strong in community-based mentoring, ELEVATE is now taking its experience onto the global stage. In Australia, we have recently begun conversations with the Victorian Government, supporting their Youth Justice reform agenda.

Victoria’s Minister for Youth Justice, Minister Erdogan, is leading significant reforms focused on rehabilitation, reducing reoffending, and improving community safety outcomes for young people. The Minister has expressed interest in learning from ELEVATE’s mentoring model and how our approach could inform and support this work.

These early discussions mark an important step for ELEVATE — demonstrating that mentoring, when done with care, consistency, and credibility, has the potential to influence systems as well as individuals.

One Vision, Many Communities

Whether working alongside students in Kisoro District or engaging with policymakers in Victoria, ELEVATE’s approach remains the same: listen first, build trust, and centre young people in every solution.

Our international work is not about expansion for its own sake. It is about sharing what works, learning from others, and staying committed to the belief that every young person deserves the chance to thrive — no matter where they are born.

As we continue to grow, we remain grounded in our purpose: elevating young people, one conversation, one workshop, and one community at a time.
